Come September 3, 2019, Ukpa community, aka Amono Kingdom, in Oju LGA of Benue State will be literally electrified as Benue’s men of timbre and calibre will throng the kingdom for chieftaincy titles and awards.
The day is slated by the community to honour chiefly two of its illustrious sons, the Asomoli of Cote D’Ivoire, Chief Joseph Onah and Provost of the College of Education, Oju, Dr. Sunday Edor, with Chieftaincy titles.
According to the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee of the Chieftaincy Title Conferment, Hon. Victor Uhana, the honour is in recognition of the philanthropic and humanitarian gesture of the two sons towards lifting of the community in general.
Apart from the chieftaincy title conferment, the CPC chairman also lists other Benue indigenes who he said are worthy to receive Amono kingdom’s prestigious diverse awards same day to include Governor Samuel Ortom, HRH Esther Ero, Prof. Peter Agogo, Engr. Morgan Okwoche, Chief Alochu Francis Ikpobu, Chief Daniel Ulegede, Chief Ode Enyi and Hon Victor Uhana, among numerous other indigenes of the state.
Uhana stated that the events will take place at Ukpa Centre while Chief Onah’s special guests will proceed after reception to his residence near Ogengen primary school.
