★Abba Moro’s media officer hails swearing in

Feelers from the grapevine have filtered into town that David Ogewu of APGA was today sworn in at the House of Reps to represent Oju/Obi federal constituency.
Barring any development to the contrary, history has thus just been made: the APGA candidate in the Feb 23 poll is now the Oju/Obi Rep as it is, regardless of the pending judgement at the appeal court.
Appeal court verdict could still sway history.
Of course, If you’re in this part of the enclave called Nigeria, talking about Oju/Obi federal constituency, you would know that the impulse has been David Ogewu ever since his foray into the race for the constituency seat at NASS.
He started being in the news for good or for wrong reason – depending on which side of the political divide one belongs – since then. He actually joined the fray in the twilights of the 2019 electioneering.
He came with a bang, with his record reconstruction of Ugbogo Bridge, securing the nod of many Oju voters to contest the February 23 National Assembly poll against five other candidates top among them being Samson Okwu and Nick Eworo of PDP and APC respectively, to represent the constituency.
Ogewu was declared winner at first instance by an electoral officer who turned round to make an expose later that he did so under duress, and deferred to electoral tribunal for adjudication.
In the meantime, Ogewu secured a certificate of return with an appellate court order pending the tribunal verdict.
The tribunal faulted the declaration of Ogewu as winner and enthroned Samson Okwu of PDP instead, in its profound judgement. But Ogewu appealed the judgement and the case is on.
With his taking the oath of office today, Ogewu is the representative of Oju/Obi constituency in the 9th section of the National Assembly.
It is, however, not finished until it is finished when the appeal court delivers judgement to know whether Ogewu’s occupation of the seat today will last long or he will quit for the rightful winner, Samson Okwu, to take his thing back.
Meanwhile, Senator Abba Moro’s media officer (s) was sighted among the first persons to hail Ogewu.
Abba Moro is a PDP senator while Ogewu by virtue of his swearing in today is a Rep of APGA extract.
Some felt Abba Moro’s first allegiance would rather be to PDP and its candidates.
