Justice has prevailed as it has been the chorus everyone who heard the news of the gruesome murder of Joy has been chanting. In case you’ve not heard, the news of the death of Joy, a 19 years old girl of Igede origin working as a house help for one Mrs Nene Steve, shook the internet last week and it’s still trending.
Agba Classic Media gathered that, because of the lockdown law to prevent the outbreak of the global pandemic; covid-19, an autopsy that was arranged to be carried out was later postponed. The information which came from Joe Okponya, one of the members of Ogedegede Lagos Branch (who have been the major anchor of the case) also said the case will be out for hearing on 29th April.
Full details has been released by Mr Tony Iji, a Lagos based journalist of international repute. In his words as earlier posted on his Facebook timeline today 29th April, 2020, Mr Tony reported:
“That you Fortune ‘F’ on the 20th day of April, 2020, at about 7: 30hrs at Ogundola street , Sun Gas boss stop Bariga Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did killed one Joy Adole ‘F’ aged 19yrs ( now deceased) by physically beating her to death and thereby, committed an offence punishable under section 223 of the criminal law of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2015″.
– Being the charge against the accused in the magistrate court of lagos state in the Yaba Magisterial District Holden at Yaba lagos, today, 29th of April, 2020. The accused has been remanded at Kirikiri prison till June 1,2020.
The special adviser to the Governor of Benue State on religion and ethics, honourable Blessed Emmanuel Onah also confirmed this as he was live at the court for the hearing of the case.
“We just left the court, the accused will be remanded in prison custody pending police investigation on the cause of the death ( autopsy report ). The lock down is still delaying that aspect. Until then before the corpse will be released for burial. Next hearing is June 1st.
